Great drive to Robe but felt disappointed when we arrived and had a look at the beach. It was nice but not to big and there was a lot of seaweed lying around making it a bit smelly. We setup in the caravan Park and had a look around. Nice shops and found a great Italian restaurant where we had the best Pizza! Next day we thought we would have a rest day and enjoyed just relaxing. After dinner we thought we would take a trip to the Robe Obelisk. We didnt have a clue what to expect and when we arrived at the car park we thought it was just another lighthouse, then we got out the car and walked towards the cliff! OMG! It was totally awesome! Huge rock formations and steep cliffs, the ground covered in rough rocky holes which you could only imagine finding on the planet Mars. You can hear me on the video wowing! (You can find it at the link on the right to YouTube). Totally Awesome!
Next day we set out on the road to Victor Harbor. We decided to stop in Kingston for some lunch as we had been there 25 years ago and had loved it, especially Larry the lobster! When we got there the town had grown a lot but still not a huge town. The beach was as we had remembered ... white sand stretching for miles but Larry the Lobster was looking a bit worse for wear! But we still had to take the standard photo with him!
Back on the road and arrived in Wellington and caught the ferry across the Murray! Took all of 10 minutes! It was so cool... only held about 10 cars and was on a pully from one side to the other. The pilot directed you on board and started up the engine to start pulling the lines across, it was so smooth you didn't realise you were moving until we were a few feet from the side! It was a real treat! We passed through a few lovely towns and promised ourselves we would go back and revisit them once we were settled into Victor Harbor. Arrived at the caravan park at around 3pm and were setup half an hour later.
