We have loved our time here in Echucca, its a wonderful place to chill and we have had the best of weather! Its not been much below 28 every day...today was 35dg! Been up early every morning for a cycle or walk before the heat sets in (incuded some photos of the area around the Murray river on our bike rides). Tommy even tried some moves on a Skate Park! I think he has a new hobby...
We managed to meet some lovely locals when we went for a night at the local pub... The American, which had some live bands on. Tommy was off at the loo(everyone knows thats where Tommy spends half his time when he is drinking beer) and the girl beside me (Ursula) turned around in her chair and started chatting. Turns out her partner Mick, was Irish and we all got on like a house on fire! When we left we vowed to meet them the next night in a wee Hotel called the Bordello. (no its not her partner in the photo its one of her employees!)
Anyway after our shopping spree we thought we would call into the Hotel we would meet them at later and turns out the owner is Scottish! As you can imagine Tommy & him got on famously! His name is Martin and we had a great laugh and Tommy sampled some of his 65 different beers... Martin likes to get you tasting all of them not just to stick to one. After sampling a few we decided we should go vote and then back to the park for a swim in the pool, after all it was 30 dg outside and its 5pm!
Met up with Ursula at the Bordello and had a great night chatting and listening to a couple of girls singing some great tunes! Excellent and we feel like we have known her forever!
Today we decided to go for a drive to Turumbarry Weir, it has a great show n tell centre right on the weir, with presentations reliving the original build of the weir and then the rebuild in 1972(I think). Really interesting! We had a walk out onto the weir and have included some photos.... I know boring to some of you but we had a great time! On the way back saw some quirky letter boxes and an awesome billabong. Then we ended up back at the Bordello Hotel for dinner and a few beers and to listen to a guy sing. He was excellent played Sinatra and Michael Buble kinda stuff! Then back to the van to sit outside with a wee glass of port or two! Love it! Could get used to this life....
